We love Knights Ferry School!

As evidenced by our rich heritage as well as present-day testimonials,
all students at Knights Ferry School are offered many unique opportunities
that help bring about our vision of “Inspiring academic excellence and cultivating citizenship for the future success of the whole child”.

Brief History:

Knights Ferry had one of the first public schools in Stanislaus County, established in 1854 by the Dent, Lane and Magee Families. It was situated at one end of a stable that was located where the River's Edge restaurant now stands. In about 1865 a little red school house was erected on the top of the hill above town, the present school site. This was considered the best school building in the county, as most of the others were make-shift buildings. The red school served the community until July 4, 1899, when it was destroyed by fire. Over the course of many years yet another fire occurred but teachers and children happily moved into their new present-day Knights Ferry School building for the Fall term of 1974. In the years since another large building containing offices and three classrooms, as well as 4 portable buildings have been added. As has been the case since 1854, the school continues to take pride in providing the best education for all students in the most beautiful setting in Stanislaus County.
